MASTERSIM Documentation
MASTERSIM is an FMI co-simulation master for coupling Functional Mock-up Units (FMUs). The following sections provide access to the user manual, the source code, the FMI standard and further technical information.
User manual
The complete MASTERSIM user manual describes the basic concepts, the graphical user interface, the command-line solver, project files, testing and development.
Source code and development
MASTERSIM is open-source software. The source code, issue tracker, releases and development information are available on GitHub.
FMI standard
The Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI) is an open standard for exchanging and coupling simulation models. MASTERSIM supports FMI for Co-Simulation 1.0 and 2.0.
Co-simulation and master algorithms
The master algorithms Gauss-Jacobi, Gauss-Seidel and Newton are available in MASTERSIM. Depending on the selected method, FMUs can be iterated, states can be restored and communication step sizes can be adjusted.
Validation and examples
The MASTERSIM project contains validation cases and test suites for checking the implemented algorithms and the interaction with FMI slaves. The manual also explains FMU debugging and automated tests.
Literature and publications
The following publications discuss the algorithms, error estimation and validation of MASTERSIM and provide further background on FMI co-simulation.
